What Does Commando Football Mean To You: Brotherhood and the willingness to succeed.

Brett is an excellent athlete that plays two sports for Hendersonville High School.  He earned the starting spot at quarterback during 2015, and was the team’s starting quarterback for all of last season earning 2nd team ‘ALL-COUNTY’ honors as a quarterback.  He is likely to return as the team’s starting quarterback for his senior season this fall, and has the potential to be a starter on defense at safety where he saw some action in 2016.  Brett has a great work ethic and shows up at practice every day ready to work and get better; he also is a great leader and helps his teammates get better and is constantly encouraging everyone on the team to do their best.  He loves the game and has fun while playing.  He has consistently improved over the past two seasons and with his commitment to the team, is likely to continue that improvement and have an excellent senior season.  He will play a major role in how successful the COMMANDOS will be during the 2017 season.

2016-Started at quarterback all season completing 50% of his pass attempts while throwing for 944 yards.  Was named 2nd team ‘ALL-COUNTY’ as a quarterback for his efforts during the season.  Ended the season with 55 completions on 109 attempts with 12 touchdowns and 3 interceptions; ran the ball 36 times for 104 yards and 3 scores, and had 3 punts that netted 104 yards.  Had a career high 212 passing yards, which ranks 3rd all-time in HHS history, while completing 12 of 18 passes with 3 TD’s and 1 interception in the team’s 1 point loss to Cane Ridge.  Threw 2 touchdown passes against Siegel, Station Camp, and Glencliff; while tossing 1 against Beech, Hillsboro, and East Nashville.  His interceptions came against McGavock, Cane Ridge, and Beech.  He ran the ball in all 10 games with his best output being 28 yards on 8 attempts against Hillsboro that included his season long rush of 19 yards.  His rushing touchdowns were scored in the Beech, East Nashville, and Station Camp contests.  He punted for the COMMANDOS 3 times during the season with 1 punt against Siegel and 2 versus Hillsboro.  His career long punt of 47 yards was versus the Stars.  He also earned some playing time on defense at safety where he scored 1 defensive touchdown against Glencliff.  His defensive touchdown came as he received a pitch from teammate Weston Schwerdt after Schwerdt intercepted a Colt pass, Brett raced 55 yards to the endzone for the score.

2015-Was the team’s starting quarterback for the final 8 games of the season and earned honorable mention ‘ALL-COUNTY’ at quarterback for his efforts throughout the season helping lead the team to a 10-2 record.  Ended the season with 505 passing yard while completing 29 of his 60 attempts.  He threw 7 touchdowns with 2 interceptions.  He also ran the ball 27 times for 12 yards and 1 touchdown.  He completed passes in 11 of the teams 12 games with his best performance being in the teams 1st round playoff victory over Shelbyville when he went 6 for 6 for 108 yards and 1 TD.  He threw for 2 touchdowns against both East Nashville as well as Hunters Lane, and added 1 TD pass against Station Camp and Independence.  His interceptions came against Hunters Lane and Independence.  Had rushing attempts in 10 games.  His best game running the ball came against Station Camp when he ran 4 times for 24 yards while finding the endzone once.  His career longest rush was 20 yards that also came against the Bison.
