JV BEAT IN FIRST GAME
Monday, September 11, 2017

The JV team got to play their first game of 2017 on Monday and got beat by Beech at Shackle Island Stadium 7-13.

Beech would get the ball to start the game and after driving into HHS territory, they would turn the ball over on downs after the COMMANDOS came up with a 4th down stop.  #20 Nate Hancock would have a good 1st down run followed with a 1st down completion from #19 Drew Hohenbrink to #21 Jackson Alford, but Hendersonville would eventually have to punt early in the 2nd quarter.  The Buccaneers would get on the scoreboard on their next drive with a 35 yard TD run.  Hendersonville would have a nice return on the kickoff, but go three and out.  The COMMANDO defense would force a 3 & out of their own to give HHS a chance to get points before halftime.  Hendersonville would be unable to get anything after getting sacked on the last play of the 1st half with the score 0-7.

First down catches by #86 Erick Morales and Alford would get the first drive of 2nd half going, but HHS would have to punt again.  A fumble would be recovered by #62 Kevon Stewart that set HHS up with a 1st and goal.  It would take Hendersonville 4 downs to score but they would get a touchdown as Hohenbrink would connect with #14 Issiah Chandler to tie the game at 7.  The COMMANDOS would force a 3 & out as Beech would punt early in the 4th quarter.  Hendersonville would fumble following the punt, and the Buccaneers would make Hendersonville pay for the mistake ending the drive with a 2 yard TD run.  A missed PAT would make the score 7-13.  Hendersonville would get a potential game winning drive started with a run by Hohenbrink, but after getting deep into Buccaneer territory, the COMMANDOS would throw an incomplete pass on 4th down allowing Beech to take possession and run out the clock.

The JV team is scheduled to take the field again next Monday September 18 at Memorial Stadium against Lebanon with kickoff set for 6:00.
