In their first season in class 6A, Hendersonville would have a great season finishing in Cookeville with a State Championship Game appearance.  The COMMANDOS would start strong winning their first 3 games, but would drop to 3-2 after suffering back to back losses on the road.  The team would score over 40 points in each of their next four games to make their record 7-2 going into the final game of the season which would be for the District 9-AAA crown versus the Station Camp Bison who had the same record.  The Bison would hand HHS a 7 point loss, but Hendersonville was still able to get in the playoffs in the first season in 6A.  The team would have to travel to Arlington for a first round game and after defeating the Tigers in Memphis, HHS would face a 2nd round re-match with the Bison.  This meeting would go in favor of the COMMANDOS as they would be able to win their first ever overtime playoff game avenging the earlier the defeat.  HHS would convert a 2 point conversion to claim victory by a score of 29-28.  The COMMANDOS would have to travel for the 3rd consecutive week, this time to Independence, after falling behind 7-28 in the 1st half, HHS would rally and win their 2nd straight game by 1 point as they defeated the Eagles 36-35 sending HHS back to Memorial Stadium for the 2nd home semifinal playoff game in school history.  HHS would get a victory over White Station to earn a berth in the 6A State Championship Game.  HHS would end up the 6A runner-up.  By playing as a team with everyone doing their part, the COMMANDOS would accomplish a lot of their goals for the season, and have the best offensive year in school history gaining the most total yards, rushing yards, and points in a season.
