After starting the season 4-2, the 2012 COMMANDOS suffered their first losing season since 2007 finishing the season with 4 straight losses to end the year with a 4-6 record. The season would start nicely as HHS would travel to rival Station Camp in Week 0, and come back with a 17-9 victory over the Bison. However, Hendersonville would drop their next 2 contests to Franklin and Wilson Central. After 2 consecutive losses, the COMMANDOS would regroup and play their most complete game of the season in a 35-7 victory over Germantown. HHS would win the Homecoming game the next week over Portland to push their record to 3-2 on the season with a trip to Riverdale coming up. Hendersonville was able to beat the Warriors 23-20 in one of the most exciting games of the season. That game would also earn Coach Hatfield ‘Titans Coach of Week’ honors. The momentum from winning at Tomahawk stadium wasn’t enough for the COMMANDOS as they would fall by 7 points to rival Beech the next week that started the 4 game skid to end the season. HHS lost their last 4 games all by 1 score as they fell by 7, 4, 3, and 6 points. The losing record would not earn Hendersonville a 5th straight trip to the TSSAA playoffs.
