Hendersonville would make the playoffs for the 4th consecutive year in 2011. The only other time the COMMANDOS made the playoffs 4 straight years was 1996-1999. It was also the only time in school history that the team would make it to at least the semifinal round in back to back years, and the outgoing seniors are only the 3rd group in school history to play in 40 games total during a 3 year playing career. The team would also break the record for passing yards in a season with 1,653 passing yards and break the record for passing yards in a 10 game regular season with 1,400. The COMMANDOS 437 rushing yards against Springfield in the 1st Round of the TSSAA 5A playoffs was the 4th highest rushing total in a game in school history and the most rushing yards ever in a playoff game. The season would start well as HHS knocked off Station Camp in the season opener before dropping the 2nd contest to Franklin. The team would win 3 straight to make their record 4-1 halfway through the season. After losing 3 out of 4 games, HHS would shutout Lebanon to end the regular season 6-4 and secure a 3rd place finish in District 9-AAA. The COMMANDOS would get to host a first round playoff game beating Springfield, before playing Gallatin for the 2nd time. HHS would get revenge on the Green Wave sending the COMMANDOS back to Memorial Stadium for a quarterfinal match-up with Beech. HHS would edge Beech by 1 point in the 1st ever playoff meeting between the rival schools. The COMMANDOS would fall to Henry County in the semifinals ending a special year for Hendersonville.
